Dr. Erich Tauber
Chief Executive Officer, Founder
As Vice President and Medical Officer, Erich Tauber headed Intercell’s Product Development group for more than seven years. In this function, he was responsible for the company’s clinical development strategy and played a crucial role in the successful worldwide market launch of Intercell’s lead product, the Japanese Encephalitis vaccine Ixiaro, which he successfully led through all clinical development phases and the worldwide licensure process.
Erich is a frequent speaker at corporate conventions in the biotechnology field, and author of numerous publications in prestigious scientific journals. He is also a lecturer at the Medical University, Vienna and the University of Applied Sciences, Steyr. Erich is trained as a physician, specializing in pediatrics.

Dr. André Habel
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. André Habel is a virologist with more than fifteen years experience in industry and research Institutes and is a specialist in vaccine design, development and manufacturing. After six years of virological research at the Institut Pasteur, André joined Intercell, heading the company’s Department of Infectious Diseases and animal facility. He has set up the manufacturing of the JEV vaccine Ixiaro®, which is now licensed by FDA and EMEA. He then became the Director of Live Viral Vaccines at Berna Biotech in Switzerland (a Crucell company), before joining Stabilitech, a London-based biotechnology startup focused on developing a stabilisation process applicable to vaccines and biopharmaceuticals.
André holds several patents in the field of vaccine development and is the author and co-author of numerous publications.

Mag. Katharina Wieser
Director Finance & Communication
Katharina Wieser headed Intercell's Corporate Communication Department for more than four years. In this position she was responsible for all Communication and Investor relations activities, leading the company successfully through its initial public offering in 2005 and secondary public offering in 2006.
Katharina has spent more than eight years in various financial and public relations positions, playing key roles at firms including Intercell, Baxter and News Verlag. Katharina holds a degree in International Economics from the University of Vienna.
